2012 Rainbow Cake's Popularity... Will It Last Forever?
Rainbow cake... who never hear about it?
Rainbow cake is one of the sensasional cakes in 2012, especially in Indonesia. Rainbow cake is a layered cake with colorful color like a rainbow. The texture of the cake itself is soft and moist. Just like a sponge taste, this cake has attracted many people.
From the its first appearance on public, this cakes has made many people interested. You will get a difficulty to find these cakes because it always sold out. no wonder because these foods has its own uniqueness. People is tempted by its color which is colorful like a rainbow and the appearance.
Rainbow cake was firstly found by Kaitlin Flannery. Then Martha Stewart make it popular by invited the founder to her show on April 2010. At those times, the cake was really popular around USA and the world before booming in Indonesia.
Many cake shops make this cake to follow the trend. We can see this cake in every cake shop in Indonesia. In 2012, many people hunted this cake everywhere. they are curious and want to try how the cake taste like. Since then, rainbow cake is like an idol in bakery world.
However, it was in 2012. How about in 2013? is it still the same? well, people's sense of food are often change. And the trend is either. People tend to try other new things that is trending now.
Therefore, how is rainbow cake's popularity in 2013?
Taken from Tribunnews, on April 2013, Hypermall in Makassar made the longest rainbow cake to celebrated their 9th birthday. The cake is 2.500 meters long. They made this to attract people to come and enjoy the cake in their place. It shows that rainbow cake still interest people.
It also happened in Cake & Pastry corner in Santika Hotel. They made the rainbow cake with different recipe. The chef said that people still welcomes the cake. It sold out fast and interest people.

Es Teler 77... The never ending dessert
Most people tend to take dessert after they have lunch or
dinner. The varieties of dessert are usually a plate of sweet cake or some
fresh fruits. However every people must have different taste of dessert.
For this special edition about dessert, I especially visit a
place which quiet famous for its Indonesian food. The place is called “Es Teler
77” which has many branches in every city in Indonesia even in foreign countries.
At first, Es Teler was opened in a small cafeteria in 1987. It was really
popular at that time.
Today, I visited the one which is located in the Ambarukmo
Plaza LG FI Unit B32-34, Laksda Adisucipto street, Yogyakarta.
The
place is not quite big but it is comfortable for hang out. I ordered the “Es
teler” with price Rp. 15.000. 10 minutes later, a glass of es teler has been
put in front of me. The portion is much enough for me. The sweet and fresh
taste has gone through my tongue. The contents of it are some fresh fruits like
avocado, jackfruit, melon, white milk cream, and some ice shavings. This ice is
suitable for dessert. Beside it, you can also order the other foods like Bakso,
otak-otak, kuitiaw noodle, and many else. So after you order the main course,
you can order the es teler as a dessert.

However the pudding which is popular around us usually have a smooth and sweet taste. It is such as chocolate puddings, rice puddings, christmas puddings, and etc. Every country in the world has its own pudding from different ingredients.

UK and Australia, pudding is usually made from dairy-based ingredients. Those

Pattisier... the dessert artist
Pastry chef or pattisier
is a person who works behind the beautiful and art-like dessert. They are the
one who will make the dessert things in the restaurant or cafe.
A patisier must be
creative in order to create new recipe of pastries. They must also have a good
taste and professional skill to design the plate for dessert. Beside skills, a
patisier also use some techniques to make the masterpiece. It also requires a lot
of hard work to be a patisier. They have to struggle both physically and
mentally. While they have to be always productive in their work they also have
to consent their mind to make a new things.
Their
other techniques is approach the consumers. They will interact with costumers a
lot in order to understand customers' interest toward their product. The more
they interact with the customers, the more they will serve them well.
Therefore,
a job as a patisier is not only that they have to have a good skill but also
they must be communicative. The creativeness will come along with their result
from interacting with the customer.
A pattisier is not only a chef or someone who is good at cooking but they're an artist in designing and making a masterpiece dessert.
